“It’s Esau, your firstborn son.” (Jacob talking to his father Isaac in Genesis 27:19, NLT)
Straight out lie. In fact, worse than a lie, a plan so devious it managed to deliberately circumvent every possible way Isaac had of confirming his identity.
Yet God worked with, in, and through Jacob before his character changed. In fact, Jacob never experienced an instantaneous radical change (like Paul the apostle, centuries later). But transformation came. Good news for me. My character is far from sterling, but God still chooses to speak blessing and work with me where I’m at.
Who you are when God first starts working with you is not who you are destined to be.
