Of Destructive Patterns And Fatal Flaws

She is more righteous than I am. (Genesis 38:26, NLT)

Judah messed up, and not just a one off “mistake.” Time after time he blows it. No, he sins.

He lies to Tamar.  He has sex with a shrine prostitute (or what he believes to be one). And then has the audacity to condemn Tamar for acting like a prostitute.

But, when confronted with his sins, he didn’t deny and excuse, but rather, acknowledged. He humbled himself and moved forward with integrity towards Tamar.

We all will blow it. But destructive patterns are not fatal flaws.

Out of Judah came David…and Jesus.

Don’t let your past define you. Or current sin ensnare you.

God is working. He is redeeming. He hasn’t given up. And neither should you.
