You can’t truly worship God by adding Him on to your life, by having Him be one of many or even several gods and/or priorities you serve. Money, recognition and affirmation of men, pleasure, even family…all can compete as objects of our affection, devotion, and worship.
While we can worship God in the use of our resources, through our work, and with our family, God will not just be added on to any of those.
Instead, just as He did with Jacob long ago, God changes our name. He redeems us. He makes us His own. And He calls us apart to experience the joy of life devoted exclusively to Him.
Will we enter into that kind of worship today?
